It is difficult to get a sense of what are the ethical implications of emerging technologies. I work with labs across the Netherlands conducting fundamental research on developing technologies to envision what is the impact that these technologies may have on our society when they are deployed in the next 5-20 years.
In this research we utilize the theoretical framework of responsible research and innovation to build an understanding of how to develop and innovate these technologies, at these early stages, in the most responsible way possible. Our output is a framework to promote the responsible innovation and value-sensitive design of fledgling these technologies.
